ALT-1 How to Make the best of a Bad Job

From 3arf

Do you hate your job, or does it feel like maybe your job hates you? Not every job is going to be glamorous, or one that you are going to want to do, but someone still has to do them. Whether it is something you are doing for a paycheck, or simply because it is a necessary evil to advance higher, everyone does jobs they hate. How do you manage to make the best of it?

There is a silver lining in every job you ever have, so you have to find that silver lining. Maybe your job is a poor one, but you get to work in Miami near the beach. The job could be cleaning out sewers, but the people that you work with are now your best friends. Sometimes the silver lining is that the job is somewhat tedious, but the patrons will leave you nice tips that supplement what might be a meager paycheck.

Usually a bad job only seems bad because of your attitude. Sometimes the job truly is poor, but everyone has times that they hate their jobs. There are always going to be days where they hate the boss, hate the customers and wish they could just stay asleep. However, you have to realize that every job is a paycheck, and your creditors don't care that your job is poor, they just want their money every month.

Have fun with your job whenever possible. Perhaps you have a co-worker who is too uptight, so play a joke on him and it will lighten your mood. Nothing too drastic, but rearranging his desk because you know he is a neat freak can be a fun prank to pull. If he has any sense of humor, he will appreciate it. Play games with your co-workers during the boring meetings that no one likes because it will kill time. Whatever keeps you loose during the day.

Suzanne Lucas has someother ideasas to  how you can make the best of a bad job. One of the better ideas is to simply stay positive while at work. One of the worst things you can do for yourself is to allow those around you, or your job, to get you down. It will simply sap you of morale and make it almost unbearable to come to work. This is doubly true if you are in a job that you cannot afford to lose.

If your job isn't the greatest right now, you should know that there is always hope for the future. You can always quit, or just work hard to get promoted, or transfered. Maybe your boss will get promoted, or sent away, and you won't have any problems. Going to school and finishing your degree will help you out as well. The people who are getting the better jobs now tend to have college degrees.

Everyone has had jobs that aren't the greatest, but they learn from them. Those jobs teach people what they don't want to do with their lives so they work harder to get the job they want. Isn't that something to take away from that experience?
