ALT-1 How to Avoid Scams when using the Internet for Job Searches

From 3arf

Using the Internet can be a powerful tool in finding the job of your dreams. Sadly, there are way too many scams out there, and it can be hard for you to really figure out what might be a real job opportunity, and what might simply be a scam. There are some ways though that you can figure out for yourself whether or not a job is legit, and whether or not you should take that job that you found on the Internet.

The first thing you need to do is determine the source of the job offer. Did you find it in your spam folder in your e-mail? If you didn't think you were thinking about that kind of work, you should really just stop the "search" there. Even if it says you can make 4,000 dollars in your first day, you should just delete it. Chances are it is just a mass e-mail, and they are looking to "hire" some people who would give them money instead.

How many other people do you know that are doing the work too? When that Google ad pops up and you get some testimonial from the guy who was a pizza delivery guy, but now makes thousands selling ad links, do you really see yourself doing that? Do you know anyone else who has experience doing that? If not, chances are that it isn't a real opportunity for anything but someone to get your personal information.

When you find this job opportunity, does is sound like it is something too good to be true? If you find a job promising that you can make 500 dollars just for taking a survey, does that sound like something you would get paid that much to do? If those jobs were just out there, why would anyone work for the grocery store? Why go to college when you could just read a couple of surveys? Obviously those types of jobs are just scams to get money.

Always consider your sources, and think about the offers being made before accepting any job you find on-line. If no one else is doing it, or if you don't find any valid contact information, you should think twice about doing the job. Anything that you have to pay to keep going in is something that is usually a scam too. Remember, a job pays you, not the other way around.
