ALT-1 How to Assemble a Manicure Gift Set for Women
A manicure/pedicure set is a gift that is always useful and one which most women would love because depending on the way you assemble the gift it can be turned into much more than a simple manicure set of just a nail file and a pair of scissors!
In order to assemble the gift you will first need to find a nice container in which to place all the items of the manicure set. A good container could be a flowered plastic zip up bag which are usually sold for keeping make up or toiletries in, and the best ones are square shaped with lots of dividing compartments inside.
Next one really needs to try and remember what is used when one is having a manicure in a beauty parlour, so that nothing is left out. If one has never had a manicure you could look up on Internet to see what is needed or to help you along, here below is a list of the most basic ingredients:
4 in 1 emery file which contains emery board for filing nails down, a softer emery board for smoothing down ridges and imperfections on the nails, a medium nail buffer to smooth the nail down even more and finally a fine nail buffer to bring out the shine in the nails. When used correctly it can seem that you have applied nail gloss to your nails when in fact the trick has just been to use the nail buffer!
cuticle cutter
toe nail cutter
orange stick (for pushing cuticles back)
Vaseline cream for cuticles or other product for softening cuticles
base coat
top coat
pale nail varnish
rigid foam toe divider
smal tube of hand cream with almond oil
Another good container that can be made at home is to use a square tin box, you know the kind in which biscuits or crackers come in. What you have to do is to then buy the foam that is used in flower arranging. Cut it so as it fits into the box touching all the sides and finally cover this with some coloured velvet material. The velvet could be burgandy red, bottle green or even navy as they are all nice rich colours.
So when you have all the ingredients of your gift assembled, plan out where you are going to place them all within the box and put them in place. When you are happy that all of them are going to fit into place like a jig-saw puzzle, you can now press down on them so as to indent the foam and allocate their places in the box. This manicure box is going to look very professional and the receiver of this gift will always have a place for all the items.
And maybe for the woman who is not very good at doing her own hands at home, an extra might be to slip a gift voucher into the tin for her to have a professional manicure so that she can learn how to do it all herself at home!
