ALT-1 How Valentines Day is Celebrated Worldwide

From 3arf

February 14th is known worldwide as the day for love. People show signs of affection, love, caring and sharing.

Younger kids are known to write Valentine's cards for all the kids in their classes. Treats such as candy and chocolate are given out, each one being received with an enormous smile. Everyone is included on Valentine's Day, and everyone feels and shares a sense of love.

I remember when I was in public school and Valentine's Day would be my favourite holiday at school. School was still open, and everyone came to school to ensure they could hand out their plastic bag full of cards and chocolates. It was more of an event at our school rather than a normal day of learning.

Adults have a different way of celebrating Valentine's. Hopefully there is a special someone who you can dedicate your time to. The presents are different, such as a box of chocolates and roses instead of a Mickey Mouse card and a chocolate kiss. People go on dates to fancy restaurants and enjoy the alone time they get with one another. Sweet nothings are whispered into each other's ears and a special night lays ahead.

Practically everyone around the world accepts February 14th as a world loving day. It is the day to get rid of your self consciousness and tell the person you have been in love with secretly for the past year that you really do love them and you want them to be yours.

And, fitting enough, there are many cards which describe these, such as "Be Mine" "I love you" "You Complete Me" and many more. Valentine's Day has to be the biggest Halmark holiday there is. It is all about the flashy gifts and cute cards people give one another. Card shops flourish on this day.

All though, its not all about the cards either. Flowers are a big hit with the ladies, so men get your act in gear and go out and buy a dozen roses for your sweetie. Anything goes with women who are in love.

Stuffed animals are a big thing as well. Everyone loves a cute stuffed loves a stuffed animal with the words "I Love You" written all over them. It is always satisfying to get one of these because then you can go to bed at night knowing there is someone who cares as much about you as you care about them.

Basically, February 14th is the day when everyone says "I love you" and means it through flashy gifts and alot of chocolate. It is a day where everyone feels good about themselves and the people they love. It is a universal day of love and caring.
