ALT-1 Homemade Valentines Day Gift Ideas
Valentine's Day can be an incredibly romantic time of year. But for some people it can also be an incredibly frustrating one. Knowing which gift to get for your loved one is no easy task. And it can be made much worse if you are strapped for cash this year.
But making a gift for your loved one on Valentine's day can be a great way off giving them something that is full of thought and love.
Giving your partner a gift of hand made moisturiser is an excellent way of helping them look after their skin. It is a thoughtful and beautiful looking present.
You will need:
A teaspoon of beeswax
150ml rose water
3 teaspoons of lanolin
3 tablespoons of almond oil
Thermometer
Heatproof mixing bowl
Non-aluminium saucepan
Jar for storing the finished moisturiser
The first thing that you will need to do is place a pan of hot water on the stove on a low heat, place the bowl into the saucepan and melt the beeswax and lanolin. Next, add the almond oil and mix everything together. Put the mixing bowl in a warm place to stop the ingredients stiffening.
Empty and dry the saucepan, add the rose water and borax and heat to about 50 degrees C. Add the heated water and borax to the bowl with the other ingredients and whisk thoroughly. Stand the bowl in cold water and mix until the contents are cold. Spoon the ingredients into a jar. Decorate the jar with a beautiful ribbon or bow. You can even decorate the sides of the jar with diamante stickers or special pens that are designed to write on glass.
A beautiful meal is a gift in itself and it is also a perfect way to show your loved one how much you care about them.
The most important thing to remember when making a romantic dinner is to create the right atmosphere. This is as important as the meal itself. Set the table as neatly and as beautifully as you can, dim the light and light candles. Don't just stick to candles on the table. Lighting candles around the whole room will give your atmosphere sophistication and romance.
Play your loved one's favourite music in the background, it doesn't matter what kind of music it is or how much you dislike it!
Make them their favourite meal, no matter what it is. Most people think that a romantic dinner has to consist of fancy food. It doesn't, a romantic dinner consists or romantic gestures and food that you both like. So even if their favourite food is chilli and chips, make it for them. It will make them feel really special.
