ALT-1 Globaltestmarketcom
You can earn money atGlobalTestMarket.comby completing online paid surveys. It is an International Online Survey Panel founded in 1999 as a division of Global Market Insite, Inc. Bellevue, WA USA.
GlobalTestMarket is rather unique in that its online community members come from over 200 countries around the world and number over 6 million in total. Members receive regular email invitations to complete online surveys about existing and new consumer products and services, motor vehicles, healthcare, current affairs, new movies and more.
Free membership.
The GlobalTestMarket (GTM) website will offer you the opportunity to join up to become a member. There is a minimum age for joining, being 14 years, and consent is required for 14 to 17 year olds.
On joining new members receive an email confirmation and can then access the GTM members area. Once in a new member is invited to complete eight profile surveys: Basic; Household; Travel; Employment; Financial; Technology; Medical; and Vehicle. It is important to provide the information required in these five minute surveys. They will form the basis of your demographic, which enables GTM to email you survey invitations that closely match your profile - and therefore give you a better chance to qualify.
Rewards.
GTM “Market Points“, which are redeemable for cash. 1000 points need to be accrued before redemption is permitted. A point is worth US5 cents. Hence, 1000 points equates to US$50.
The reward for a successfully completed survey ranges from 35 points ($1.75) to the occasional 300 points ($15) depending on the length and urgency. A distinct positive aspect of GTM used to be a reward (5 points) for attempting a survey, even if you do not qualify (screened out).
However, in early 2010 two significant changes involving rewards were introduced:
(1) Whereas previously ALL surveys earned Market Points, now a number of them (in my case roughly half), only offer the incentive of sweepstakes entries. Now I do not know about you, but sweepstakes or other prize draw rewards do not appeal to me. With six million members around the world earning multiple entries, the mind boggles at the total number of entries in each draw. I figure my chances of winning are as remote as picking the winning numbers in my Country’s National Lottery!
(2) Even the surveys that still offer Market Point rewards seem to be affected. The points offered seem to be shrinking. Where 50 points (US$2.50) was the most prevalent, now 35 (US$1.75) is the norm. Moreover, no longer do surveys offer the 5 point consolation for non-qualifiers - it is now one entry in the sweepstakes.
Obviously, the aftermath of these changes is a lengthening of the period of time it takes to reach the payout threshold. Once you eventually accumulate the 1000 points, you can immediately redeem points for cash. Payment is made via a snail mail check in the currency of your country. GTM undertake to deliver in 4-6 weeks in the US and 6-8 weeks for non-US members.
Critical Strategies.
Regularly update your profile surveys. This seems to ensure continuity of survey opportunities.
Do not rush surveys - particularly the screening questions, as one careless answer could result in failing to qualify.
Where detailed typed responses are required, be thoughtful and thorough. This is what the researchers are after, and enhances future email invitations.
Finally, and importantly, GTM does have a proficient helpdesk. I have utilized it several times for mainly positive outcomes.
General Overview.
GTM was definitely one of the best international Online Survey Sites for earning money. The 2010 changes have certainly diminished its appeal somewhat. With a high payout threshold of US$50, it can now take six months or more to achieve. Admittedly, the number and frequency of surveys for points you receive depends on your specific demographic, and the projects they are conducting. Disappointingly, I now only receive three per week and qualify for about 40% of these.
The bottom line is this money downgrade brings GTM right back to the field, but does not change the fact that, as a paid survey site, it is legitimate, reputable, and does pay as promised.
