ALT-1 Gifts for Teachers

From 3arf

There are many reasons why you may want to give a gift to your child’s teacher. It may be a holiday, the teacher’s birthday, or you may just want to show appreciation for all that the teacher has done for your child. There are a wide variety of gifts that your child’s teacher would love to receive.

Scrapbook

A scrapbook is a unique gift that your child’s teacher will enjoy. Take pictures at all of your child’s classroom and school events. Make sure you catch the teacher and all of the students on film. The photos can be developed at a reasonable price. Purchase the scrapbook and other materials, and have your child help you make the scrapbook.

Gift Baskets

Gift baskets are another great gift for teachers. You can fill a basket with books, art supplies, paper, pencils, stickers and other classroom items. Many times the supplies in the classroom are bought by the teachers, so this type of basket is a great choice.

If your child’s teacher likes coffee, you can fill a basket with coffee, creamer, a mug, sugar packets and a gift card to the local coffee shop. You can also make a basket for the chocolate lover by adding a variety of chocolate bars and hot chocolate to a basket.

Scented candles and incense can also be put into a gift basket. Choose a couple of candles and some appropriate holders. Also add an appropriate incense holder.

You can also purchase a gift card for the local bookstore. Put that in a basket with a book light. You can add some puzzle books and a magazine. The teacher will be able to use these gifts for relaxing at home.

Card

Pick up a card and a gift certificate to a local restaurant.  Have your child take the card to school, or bring it in yourself, and have your child and classmates sign it. Write a separate note of your own. Put your note and the gift certificate into the card, seal the envelope and give it to the teacher.

Baked Goods

Everyone has a favorite sweet snack. Your child probably knows what his teacher’s favorite treat is. Spend an evening baking the teacher’s beloved snack with your child. After the treats have cooled, place them in a decorative tin, and write a note to the teacher and tape it to the container. Have your child give the tin to his teacher the next morning.
