ALT-1 Fun Activities for Fathers Day
Even though it is Father's day, kids are a special part of his life and they too should enjoy in the fun on his special day. Give him his breakfast in bed but involve the kids in preparing all his favourite breakfast dishes for him. Arrange them on the tray for him with his tea in a father's day mug and take it to him. Slip on this tray a list of activities planned for the day and while he is enjoying his breakfast decide where to go which will be practical and fun at the same time.
If he is fun loving dad, top of the list for for an outing will be a day at a theme park. There are hundreds of activities at these places which can keep adults and children occupied all day. The rides, the farm animals, boat rides, swimming and eating out are all exciting family things to do and because father's day falls in summer this makes it extra special. Places like Thorpe Park, Legoland and Alton Towers are a few that come to mind amongst lots of others.
A trip to London is fun for all the family and there are lots of places to visit which will be both fun and educational at the same time. Madame Tussauds, the London Eye, Tower of London, The London Museum or palaces like Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace are all open to the public and can provide hours of fun and excitement. Cruising down the River Thames and looking at local areas of interest as you go by or a day in the sightseeing red London bus will ensure a fun filled trip! Do not forget the zoo if dad loves animals as there are lots of different animals to see and feed so the kids do not get a chance to be bored or feel left out.
A trip to the local park is great if there are family games planned like football or badminton. Everyone can join in the fun and a picnic afterwards can be a the right ending to a fun filled family day.
Swimming at local leisure centres is also fun especially if you take into account the additional activities these centres provide which are all under one roof. The whole family can choose at least one activity that interests them so that each one of them is occupied and enjoying themselves at the same time.
Going for a meal and then a movie afterwards is also a great day out for the family. Films like 'Lord of the Rings'. 'Harry Potter', 'The Incredible Hulk' or the 'X Men' come to mind which will keep both dad and kids happy. Dont forget the IMAX cinema in London which provides a screen as high as a five storey building and as wide as four buses with a special 3D effect that has people reaching out to touch the images on the screen.
If a day at home is what dad would like then a barbecue is just the right thing to organise. Get the children involved in getting the ingredients ready and serving the food once it is ready. Helping dad to do the barbecue and then clearing up afterwards teaches them to have fun and learn how to be organised at the same time.
Playing family games afterwards like twister, or board games like Ludo or snakes and ladders are a great conclusion to a great day. The main aim is to have fun whatever you decide to do so that even the simplest of activities will be exciting for all the members of the family, especially dad.
