ALT-1 Free Valentines Day Gift Ideas

From 3arf

Valentine's Day is one of the biggest commercial holidays. Satin chocolate boxes, cards, fancy jewelry and cute stuffed animals in every store. With the economy the way it is these days, many people simply cannot afford these luxury items. This article is going look at some ideas for free Valentine's Day gifts.

  • Picnic. This, of course, depends on where you live and weather conditions there. Packing a lunch/dinner in a basket and going to a park or public garden can be a very romantic. Fresh air and the beauty of nature can offer inspiration for a memorable Valentine's Day.
  • Dinner and a movie. Choose foods you know your sweetheart likes and fix them at home. Complete the meal with a special dessert. Please note: it is possible to create a wonderful meal on a very low budget. Take stock of your pantry before the big day arrives to make sure you have ingredients you need. Suggested foods could include homemade bread and cake. Make sure you have candles to lend a romantic glow to your meal. Hint: candles can be purchased at dollar stores for next to nothing. Follow dinner with a favorite movie and of course, lots of snuggling!
  • Dancing. Surprise your sweetheart with an evening of dancing, at home or even in your yard (weather permitting). To be creative, you could make an invitation and leave it somewhere you know your sweetheart will find it. In this special invitation, ask your sweetheart to put on something special for this elegant evening of dance. Create a romantic setting by dimming the lights in your chosen dance room, and have the music selection all ready to go.
  • Poetry. Write a special poem for your sweetheart. Let them know what they mean to you. You certainly do not have to be an actual poet to write down nice things about your special someone. Read your poem out loud to them, or give it them in a creative way. Examples of this could be to leave it on their pillow, lay it on top of their favorite coffee mug (make sure you set the mug out in plain sight), or even on top of the remote control. The idea is to leave it as a surprise for them to find and they will know you thought of them.
  • Handmade gifts. Examples include cards, picture collages, poems, and baked goods. These are all things that do not require special skills or talent. Chances are if you make a gift for your sweetheart, by hand, they will appreciate the time and thought you put into it. It is easy to buy something shiny and pretty at a store, but making something from scratch puts your personal touch in it. Your sweetheart will know you cared enough to create something just for them.
