What kind of foods make good housewarming gifts?  You can get creative within reason and budget. You do not need to make a fully cooked dinner as a housewarming gift. You can just make things simple. Also, one has to keep in mind that bringing a housewarming gift tends to count as making a first impression on your new neighbors. Do not do anything tacky such as order fast food, pizza, and so forth.What kind of foods make good housewarming gifts for your new neighbors? Here are a few examples:Egg Rolls:Asian families, such as Chinese and Vietnamese, could make something like egg rolls.  Egg rolls tend to be easy to make; but, they are time consuming. But the end result should come out very beautifully.  They are easy to eat as well.  One does not need to have any special utilsils to eat egg rolls.  For the new neighbors that are moving into their new home, egg rolls can be a godsend. Empanadas are stuffed pastries usually filled with meats and/or cheeses. As a dessert, they can be filled with fruit.  Like egg rolls, one does not need silverware to eat empanadas. As a result, it makes empanadas a good housewarming food to give to those new neighbors.Chili:Chili tends to be a good way to go.  This is rather simple to make.  If the new neighbors move in during the winter time, then a large family-sized bowl of chili could be the way to go. There are countless ways to do chili. In short, one can never really go wrong with chili as a housewarming gift.Jumbalaya and/or Gumbo:This is pretty much in the same fashion as chili.  A nice family-sized bowl of jumbalaya or gumbo is a pretty good way to go.Pasta:One can never really go wrong with pasta. There are so many creative recipes that one can use with pasta.  For the longest time, any sort of family-sized pasta dish tends to be a good housewarming food.Homemade Jerky:There are still plenty of people that make their own homemade jerky whether it is beef jerky, turkey jerky, and so forth.  Good homemade jerky takes a lot of time and preparation for the most part.  In short, homemade jerky is a pretty good way to go.  That is unless the new neighbors are vegetarian or vegan.Garden Variety Basket:If you have your own garden with fruits and vegetables, you can pick them and put them in a picnic basket.  This is an excellent housewarming food item.  It is due to those fruits and vegetables being freshly picked.  Plus they probably will not have any of those additives, pesticides, and so forth.Desserts:Desserts are a pretty good housewarming gift.  It is common to bake cookies, cakes, pies, muffins, and so forth.  Many new neighbors are usually suckers for baked goods.  On the plus side, baked goods are usually easy to make.Overall:These are just several examples on possible housewarming foods.  Other possible foods would be: chicken wings, finger sandwiches, freshly baked croissants, fruit cocktails, fresh clam chowder, fresh homemade lasanga, and so forth.
