ALT-1 Five Ways to Add two Hours to your Day

From 3arf

Are you looking to get some time back in your day? No, there are no refund checks that you can cash in for those hours you lost, but you can save time if you follow some simple steps. There is no magic wand that you can wave to get back time that you have lost due to wasted time in the past, but you can make up for it by saving time in the future.

The first way that you can save time each day is to have great focus. There a million little things that we do each day that rob us of our productivity. That five minutes you spend watching TV, or the time you spend in line at the drive-thru will add up in the long run. Getting up, getting straight to work and then doing your job until you are done will help you out greatly. It is amazing how you can save time simply by not dawdling.

Another way to save time is to prioritize your tasks and understand what has to get done first. By doing the things that are the most important, you won't waste a lot of time waiting around trying to decide what to do next. Have a list of things that have to get done, and do not stop. Even if you are distracted, you should have a back up plan so that you can keep working.

Don't spend a lot of time worrying about things you cannot control. In other words, don't worry if something doesn't get done. Honestly, it will still be there tomorrow waiting for you. This is why you have to have other things to work on because your boss won't mind one thing not getting done as long as something else was done in its place. This will save you time because you will be able to go home without having to have every single detail taken care of.

Bring your lunch so that you don't have to worry about wasting time getting food. Sure, you deserve a few minutes to take a break, but you should understand that you can get more done by working during lunch. What are you going to do anyway besides watch TV during your lunch anyway?

Get a good night's sleep so that you can come to work ready to go. Being tired is the easiest way to feel sluggish and unmotivated. That alone will manage to save you a lot of time during your work day and allow you to keep on schedule, or even finish ahead of time.

There are many ways you can save time during the day, but you probably don't even realize that it is about cutting out the minor activities. By cutting out those extra few minutes watching TV, or simply bringing lunch to work so you can eat and work, you will be amazed by how much time you can save by simply keeping your focus during the day.
