Father Day Craft: Our Family Tv
Whether some people believe it or not, fathers do play a pivotal role in raising children. Although they don’t have that mother’s ear, or the amazing gift of multitasking, they’re just as important. I mean who else will teach the boys how to play sports or tell the girls what guys really want? Father’s Day is the perfect day to show your dad how much you appreciate all that he does. And its okay if you don’t have any money, there are lots of cool crafts that you can make that your dad will just love. Besides, it’s the thought that matters and years from now that it is all daddies will remember.
A great craft for you kids out there to make for Father’s Day is an Our Family TV. This little TV will display family photos. He can put it on his desk at his office or even at home on the shelves in his home office. All you need is an empty cereal box (just grab that almost empty box of Froot Loops), three sheets of brown construction paper, copy a 4 by 6 photo (ask your mom for assistance if you need it), two plastic lids (which can be from a juice container), two caprisun straws, a brown marker, a zipper sandwich bag with sand, beans, or rice in it, tape, a glue stick, scissors, white craft glue, and a pen.
To make this awesome present first put the rice, beans, or sand inside the cereal box. Then tape the box closed. Second, put glue all over the cereal box with the glue stick so that you can cover the entire box with your brown construction paper. Then lay the box down on a flat surface. Third, trim the sides of the photo so that it can have rounded edges. Then use your stick of glue to put the picture in the upper right corner of your cereal box. Fourth, use your white craft glue to put your two cap lids to the left of your picture, these will be TV knobs. Fifth, use a pencil or a pen to poke two holes on the top of the box for your antennas (don’t make them too big). Sixth, insert the caprisun straws in the holes. And lastly use whatever color marker you want to write your family’s name and the word TV across the bottom. Now you have a perfect little gift that your dad will just adore.
