ALT-1 Experiences Working for Chachacom
Everybody is an expert at something! Right? RIGHT
For years now I have loved a lot of things and have a plethora amount of knowledge on those subjects. I love God. I love my family. I love incredimail. I love Paint Shop Pro. I love cooking. I love homeschooling. Among many things, I love helping people.
For years I have helped people. Whether it was to find something on sale. Find a web page. Find a recipe. Find an address. Find out why a computer program wasn't working out for a user. For years I have been searching the internet. For years I have surfed the internet. For years I have been in love with the internet.
I have found an absolutely perfect way to mesh my loves with making money. It is called ChaCha. It can be found at www.chacha.com.
I first heard about it on Good Morning America. Well, my goodness, yay a work at home job I can do AND have fun. Hey, I have many jobs in my life. I make money online... but I don't make money AND have fun like I do with ChaCha!
I had to wait until I had high speed internet access because our family just moved.By the time I did that I had to wait until I got the invite. Others I knew had signed up the same day as me and gotten in right away. BUMMER. When the timing was right for me God allowed that ChaCha invite to come to me.
October 18, 2006 was a day that changed my LIFE. I am serious.
Here is what happened. I had been eagerly waiting for an invite. I had a few interactions with 'real' people at ChaCha Headquarters and knew it was only a matter of time. Trying to keep myself from whining, I went on with my life as usual.
I say that I did it while whining cause my friend had signed up the same day as me and she had gotten in with no problems and I had to WAIT. And wait I did! Constantly looking in the email I signed up in I was wondering if I would ever see the link! I finally did. I was sing CHACHA CHACHA. Why, I even had my kids doing it!
I was scheduled to work some shifts that day at my telemarketing phone job. I asked my family.... do you want me to do this where you have to be QUIET, or do the job where you just have to leave mommy alone until she figures it out? Well, duh! I skipped out on a whole lot of phone calls that day. The hours were picked up by somebody else... don't worry!
So, there I was. Logged in and ready to ChaCha. First I had to download an application, fill out some paperwork and watch some videos. Looked fun. I was READY! Ready for what? Picking my very own keywords. I got three of them!
Hmm, something I am an expert on. Have passion about. Can search about....
OH DEAR. I haven't told you a thing about the search engine yet. HEY! Don't boo me. Yes, there ARE other search engines out there... but none that allow you to search with a guide especially knowledgeable about the subject you are looking up...
'what? whoa! seriously?'
A resounding YES. On all accounts. People who know very little about the internet can come and search with a guide and we will do all the tedious work *which some of us just LOVE doing!* and we will send you results, which you can then look over and rate the guide that did your search.
(Sounds great! It does. It also feels great to help somebody search.)
So now that I have given you a brief overview from the searchers side, allow me to continue on with MY journey.
So here I was, sitting at my computer, thinking ACK I can only pick three subjects?I asked my husband to advise me. What a man he is. He had great ideas for the average man that is... but nothing that sat well with me. (He is a great guy anyway)
So, I just started to think about Me. And then they became crystal clear what they should be.. Incredimail, God, and blogging. (which is a subject my husband thought of!)
I went to pull them up. Incredimail. I got it, good! God.. Okay... Is there a God. I will place it there. And then blogging... sure, I will put it in best blogs!
Yay... let me at it... let me at it... :)
So then I began the training process. DING DONG. Oh, what is this? This is cool..and I begin...
The rest is history. I started as an Apprentice, went through to Pro and went Master by the end of 23 hour mark. No, I did not stay on the whole time...I probably did it all in a matter of... *guessing here* 4 hours maybe.
I love my new job. We went Beta as of November 6th! There have been glitches.What new thing doesn't have glitches? I was in with Incredimail during their Beta. I stayed with them for years and still use it to this day. I love it... and I expect several years down the road... telling my teenage children about the Beta days at ChaCha and have them roll their eyes that they are hearing the same old story again!
I am looking forward to that day IMMENSELY! Here's to seeing it! CHEERS!
The coolest thing about working for ChaCha? The real inventive thinking on the guide side? The PAY ME NOW option. After doing the initial paperwork, with some glitches, (I was married more than 5 years ago but still had to use the maiden name to verify my identity) I got a debit card, issued from First Internet Bank of Indiana. Now, all I have to do is hit that button and instantly my ChaCha balance is zero (it is still sad to see that for me) and it is on my debit card. I can use it as a debit card immediately or close to immediate (never has taken more than an hour) or withdraw the cash from an ATM.
I have used it for an emergency tire. To fill up gas tanks. To splurge on movie rentals. To pay rent! We just moved, remember? I have made money by not being scared of searches, hey, we have a transfer button, so I can refer it to somebody else. I even used it a time or two myself.
Nothing in me has changed. I still love the same things and the same people I loved before. Now, though, I get paid for something I was already doing before in a new and innovative way with an extremely unique, one of a kind search engine.
