ALT-1 Creative Gift Ideas

From 3arf

Gifts can sometimes be difficult to buy or to make while keeping them original. There are plenty of gifts available but you may not want to get something that is just ordinary or something that you can get anywhere for anyone.

Putting a little extra thought into the gift lets the recipient know that you really are thinking about them and really care about them. Here are a few gift ideas that are suitable for any occasion and for a variety of people.

Homemade Chocolates

The majority of people like a little bit of chocolate every now and then. Some people are even considered to be ‘chocoholics’. Homemade chocolates are easy to make and the more people that you give them to, the more the cost for the basic equipment averages out.

You only need to buy a couple of molds for the shapes which can be flowers for females and cars for males (or whatever shapes you think are the most appropriate). While plastic squeeze bottles make the task easier, two spoons can be used to get the chocolate into the molds. Chocolate wafers are available in many different colors for low prices as are plastic gift baggies.

The average for giving a decent sized gift bag is less than $5 once they have been given to a few people. The chocolates look great and the present is very economical.

Homemade Cookies and Cakes

As a general rule, people love to snack and nothing tastes better than a homemade cookie or other such treat. If you know the individual and their tastes, you can customize these treats to being their favorites or at least one of them. One of the best things about making homemade treats is that you can take care of their dietary needs if necessary such as for those with diabetes, peanut allergies, or with gluten intolerance.

Hand Knitted Items

These items might be expensive at most stores such as souvenir shops but you can find them for much lower prices at craft fairs and flea markets. They are even available stores that make their money from charitable donations such as the Epileptic Association or the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Individuals make these knitted items specifically to sell to raise money for various causes and they ask inexpensive prices for them. For example, you can buy a knitted hat at the flea market for $10 or at a charitable foundation for between $2 and $5. These are beautiful products for men, women, and children.

Gift Basket

There are many types of gift baskets on the market but you can make one yourself and customize it for the recipient. Baskets with soaps and shampoos made from with the favorite ingredients or scents are appreciated as are baskets made from items pertaining to the recipient’s hobbies. Such things as stationary and writing utensils for the writer; baking supplies or cooking supplies for an individual who likes to spend time in the kitchen; books, bookmarks, reading lights, and so on, for people who like to read – and the list goes on.

Customized Apparel

Stores that make customized apparel are becoming more popular but still have very creative gift ideas to offer. You have to know what the person enjoys such as their favorite band, sports team, pet, or any other aspect of their life, but these go well with many different people. There are shirts, hats, shorts and many other things that you can have customized and they are available for competitive prices.

Long Desired Children’s Toy

Believe it or not but there are adults who still haven’t received their long-desired children’s toy and they still want it. This could be a truck, doll, train set, or any other thing – even a box of special Lego. Finding out what this is requires a bit of knowledge of the person as well as possibly being quite close to them but in buying them such a gift, they really know that you were thinking about them.

Choosing the Right Gift

To give the most appropriate gift or one that the person will really appreciate takes some thought, especially if you want to be more creative. Being creative doesn’t mean that you have to spend a lot of money as you can find some great gifts that cost very little. The point is not the money, it is the thought. When you make or buy something that they really enjoy and that is creative, the recipient appreciates the thought much more and they know that you really do care.
