If your girl already has an mp3 player, then perhaps a prepaid card to download songs from the Internet at some digital music stores would be well received. This allows legal download of many songs, and each only costs a nominal amount that often works out to be alot cheaper than purchasing CD's.
Why not investigate a little, and find out your teens favourite artist 'de jour'? Try and find a concert to take her to, or perhaps an album launch you could both attend together. Even though you may absolutely detest the music she loves, she will appreciate the gesture and it would be a great way to draw close to your girl over the holiday period.
