ALT-1 Are Electric Vehicles the Answer to High Gas Prices – Yes

For more than 80 years people have been creating and building electric vehicles within the United States of America and also within other Countries of the World. As the years passed, those electric modes of transportation got better and better. If the elected Politicians within our Government, during those years past, supported the development of a practical electric vehicle, most of us would now own and be driving such a vehicle.

Our economy would not be on the brink of a full blown depression and billions of the dollars of the majority of, "We People of the United States of America," would be in the banking institutions of our once great nation and building future security for those who are wise enough to plan for their retirement.

You better believe that sooner or later the World's supply of oil will be gone. The price of crude oil continues to rise higher than a kite in a hurricane, in spite of the fact that an estimated 80 billion barrels of oil was recently discovered in Brazil. So to, our do-nothing worthwhile for the majority politicians still fail to take action again those huge multinational oil companies who have closed so many refineries and deliberately created a shortage of the refined products made from crude oil.

When the World's supply of crude oil is burned up and our environment is less than adquate to support life I suppose that only then will the mass purchase and use of electric vehicles will be the main machine for Public transportation. That is, if Mankind is still alive.

Then again, fuel cell powered buses are currently being used in some of our major cities. Fuel cells produce electricity from hydrogen. The electricity powers electric motors that move those buses. As such, we better find a way to make hydrogen in huge quantities as cost effective as possible and bring that hydrogen to places where people can buy it. In the years to come, hydrogen stations will be more common than the places we now know as gas stations.

Dear Reader, if the current group elected Politicians within our Government provided money to help with the transformation to electric vehicles, within five to ten years each and every one of those huge multinational oil companies would be out of business, or they would be in the business of making hydrogen. Sooner or later gasoline powered vehicles will go the way of the horse and buggy.

You see, the management and owners of those huge multinational oil companies are doing their very best to prevent what will eventually come to pass. In the meantime they will continue to suck the wealth out of each and every one of us.

The survival of Mankind is at stake here and we should be building huge fields of solar cells, in which to use the free Sun's energy to produce the electricity required to, in turn, produce hydrogen from the endless supply of free sea water. You see, the hydrogen isn't burned by the fuel cell. Rather, the hydrogen passes through a grid and combines with oxygen. In the process, electricity is produced, while the hydrogen and oxygen again becomes water. Wow! That's a pollution free way to provide power for all that the World's people need in order to stay healthy and alive.

I'm talking about a real solution for which to stop global warming and all of the natural disasters that could be prevented, together with the huge loss of life and property and all of the grief and suffering that will occur if we continue to do nothing but pay higher prices for the fossil fuels that are destroying our environment. Who will you vote for in 2008?
