ALT-14 Good Reasons for Quitting your Job
Many people quit their jobs for a number of reasons. People are quitting their jobs and moving onto better and better things all the time. You should not feel ashamed that you are leaving your position; most likely you have a good reason to do it. Here are a few good reasons that you might leave your current job.
The main reason why people leave their jobs is money. You have found another company to work for that will pay you more money. Face it: money is important and we all need it. Do not feel bad about telling your employer that you are leaving for a better offer; in fact, they may try to counter the offer if it is possible just to keep you. If you are well-liked in the company, they will try to do anything in their power just to keep you as part of the team.
Another great reason people quit their jobs is a change in family. Did you just have a new addition to the family or are you expecting one? With the constantly rising cost of child care, it is impossible for a lot of us to afford putting even one child in daycare. A lot of people find that if they quit their full-time job and pick up a part-time job and stay home with the kids that they will save a lot of money. Do not feel ashamed if you are the one who is staying home with the children. It takes a special person with a lot of patience to stay home all day, every day with the kids.
Relocating with the family for another job is also another reason why people quit their jobs. My husband and I relocated out to Las Vegas because there was a great opportunity for him out here for his company, and we couldn't pass it up. Therefore, I had to quit my job that I absolutely loved, because there is no way I could hold him back. You need to make the decisions that are right for your family, and if that means that you need to quit, well, you have to do what you have to do.
There are several other reasons why you may quit your job. Like I said before, do not be upset. We all will leave a great job at some time or another because of a very good reason. It is a part of life. Explain your situation to your employer and I am sure that they will understand. They may be upset that they are losing you, but I am sure that in your situation they would do the same thing.
