ALT-10 Fathers Day Gift Ideas
Many people find it difficult to buy gifts for men, and dear old dad is certainly no exception to that rule, is he? Of course, it doesn't have to be that way, as searching for Fathers Day gifts can be quite lucrative, especially since it harbors on the beginning of summer. Men are so much easier to buy for than women are, and beyond that; they have the best gifts ever thought of! Between sports, hobbies, cars, and electronics, whatever gift you decide on buying for dad could be fun for you to partake in as well. The only drawback may be that you may have to search for what dad is not already a proud owner of. One thing is for certain, shopping for dad can be just plain fun, and even creative. There are things out there that you can pick up for dad that he would never have imagined you could think of wrapping up in a bow (a blue one, of course, or orange if you buy the gift from the 'Home Depot').
~GPS system. We all know that men never stop for directions, so this gift could not be better. It is high tech, and it is one heck of a toy. And toys, let's face it are what men love to have. This will benefit the entire family, especially mom, when those road trips are imminent to disaster. Though some can be a bit pricey, really, which would you rather spend, $200.00 on a navigational system, or five hours on the wrong route to the camping site you didn't want to attend in the first place? With the variety of the systems that are available, there certainly is one for everybody. 'Tom Tom', 'Magellan', 'Garmin', 'Cobra', 'Sony', and 'Navigon' are just a few to choose from, and range between $99.00-$800.00, depending on where you purchase it. Also, if it needs to be installed, many retailers will do so for free.
~Cell phone. You don't have to spend the big bucks to upgrade dad's cellphone from the one he totes around on his hip, and is held together with a worn piece of duct tape. Pick up a Nextel phone that is durable and unbreakable. Many of these phones can be bought with a special price for Fathers Day, some are even free with or without a mail in rebate. Many electronics stores have a vast variety of cell phones, some of which come equipped with GPS capabilities, which is likened to two gifts in one.
~Football (or baseball, or Hockey, or Basketball) tickets. There is no dad in the world that would not love tickets to their favorite sporting event. It may not even matter if the seats aren't one the fifty yard line or behind your team's dugout. Dad will love cheering his favorite team on. If you want to go a step further, get tickets later in the season when his team plays their biggest rival. Usually those are the tickets that sell quicker. Dad not into these sports? Perhaps a few rounds of golf and a pack of golf balls, or even clubs may be more to his liking. If you are looking to go a bit less expensive, a subscription to a sports magazine, or a specific sports pay-per-view event or channel coupled with a case of beer would also be appreciated. Any sports apparel would be coveted, especially a jersey made with his own name on the back of it.
~Electronic accessories.A BlueTooth headset would be great for dad, as he could keep his hands free while at work. An extra battery for the camcorder, his phone, or the camera would also be handy. Any types of batteries would be helpful, as dad's are always using things that require them (like the remote). Even a memory card for the digital camera that he still doesn't know how to upload to the computer. Car chargers, cell phone cases, or USB cords that may be helpful in connecting any of his favorite devices.
~A hearty steak dinner.Dads like to eat, and they like to eat well at that. Buy a bunch of big juicy steaks, have mom prepare some potato salad and fire up the grill. Or perhaps dad likes Ribs better, or even a big Lobster tail. Couple these with a nice set of stainless steel grill accessory kit, a manly apron, and some gourmet barbecue sauces or hot sauces.
If these aren't good for dad, get him something crazy. They actually have these footballs, and baseballs that have an electronic device in them that measures the yards and the speed after they are thrown. That is one way to settle who can throw the farthest at the summer games. A car waxing kit might be appreciated, or perhaps one of the latest, greatest movies on DVD, like 'Transformers', or the whole 'Indian Jones' set to gear up for the next movie. Just think, the cooler the gift you buy for dear old dad, the more fun you will have playing with it also!
