On Father's Day the gifts come in all shape and sizes from children bringing home school artwork, and crafts made just for you on this special day to remember. Gifts bought from stores; all kinds of merchandise from the family for you on this day so many things given through the years; such as tickets to games, or concerts, to memberships; oh and those lovely gift ideas given to get you to change. You know those kinds of gifts and then there's the dollar store gifts and clearance items that the stores just want to get rid of so they mark them down with a 90% off sign because nobody wants it and you're the lucky receiver of the item.
There are lots of gifts to choose from and ideas in gift giving. It all depends on what the gift giver was thinking about upon that devoted gift item made or bought just for you. There's always a gift given that sooner or later turns up and is something ungodly, and you are expected to wear it or display it as a center piece. Yikes! It does happen unfortunately, and to show are appreciation we pretend to love the gift; but as soon as we can we hide it away in hopes that it will disappear somehow under a pile of dust.
Especially when it comes to nick knack stuff that is quit ugly and cheap. Items you know was bought just to be able to hand something over and still have money for their selves. Yes in many cases having to part with a little bit of money is tough for some kids and so they look for the cheapest thing possible with little to no thought of if it is a good gift to give or not. There are always gifts that we don't know what in the world to do with, but to hide it away somewhere and secretly hope that we can unload it at the Good Will someday.
Not just kids but adults will get something that isn't needed at all because it is cheap so they buy it and you are suppose to treasure it; even though it didn't mean anything to them other than coming through with a gift item. When it comes to gifts of hygiene products or some other item that is intended for you to change your ways; are always a little bit difficult to show enthusiasm for.
How about when you get diet bills because you are fat, or hair growth pills because you are going bald. You know those kinds of gifts to remind you of your flaws.
The hidden messages the kids and the good old wife hide in the gift idea sometimes can be very disappointing to the ego; how about the gift of a membership to some place that doesn't appeal to you at all.
Then there's that gift that was actually intended for them; for they can go somewhere to enjoy and we have to go along because it is suppose to be for us. Yeah right, like if you don't know.

We go along with it and keep quiet. One good thing with getting thoughtless gifts on Father's Day, or any other day for that matter you learn what not to do or what not to give as a gift to someone else because you know how it feels to receive something that had no thought behind it.
When the children are little and they scribble on a piece of paper and hand it over to you those gifts is appreciated because they put effort into it and it was given to you from their very best ability to do so. Same goes through the school years when the kids want to please you and they make you Father's Day gifts that you cherish. With each year their skills get better and the gift becomes a little more advanced as they get older. There are always certain ones that you treasure.
When the wife is in a loving mood and appreciates you it shows in what she gives you or does for you on Father's Day and on any other day or occasion. Love does show in what you do; and all it takes is a little bit of thought and effort towards the person you are buying for or giving too.
