From 3arf

Lincoln had a vision of making luxury affordable with state of the art technology and has hit the nail on the head with the new Lincoln MKS.  This new sedan might be the replacement of the tired Lincoln Town Car.  With so many consumers wantingmore gadgets and a new look, Lincoln has delivered the goods by introducing a totally new car.  The MKS is the new luxury and a price tag in the forties makes it well within reach even for a younger buyer, which is Lincoln's plan, to draw in a younger crowd.

Elegant

At first glance the MKS has a very elegant appearance.  It's higher belt line really shows off it's flawless skin and chrome accents that bring out the best of the car.  Looking at the driver's door in the B pillar you notice the next generation keypad.  You touch to spot where it's at and it illuminates revelling the numbers.  If you have you key fob in your pocket you can slide your finger along the numbers and the door will unlock.  Another feature on the MKS is the capless fuel filler system.  There isn't a gas cap, this makes it easier to fuel while preventing the check engine light to come on because the cap wasn't tighten enough.  This feature is new for Ford Motor Company and should be put on all new models in the near future.

Inner Beauty

Lincoln uses Bridge of Weir leather for the seats.  This leather is softer and is tanned using a chromium free process allowing it to be recycled.  The seats are also heated and cooled, bringing the luxury feel to the seats.  The MKS has uses natural wood and metallic accents depending on the interior package.  The wood is used from recycled wood making it environmentally friendly.  The MKS has a push to start feature really just putting the icing on the cake.

State of the Art

Lincoln makes good the promise of state of the art luxury.  While driving MKS has the ability to use it's adaptive cruise and adaptive headlamps.  This allows you to not only see around the curves at night but also the car will slow down if there is a car moving a little slower than you.  Most adaptive cruise systems have an erupt feeling when engaged but Lincoln's system is very smooth.  Lincoln replaces it's old navigation system with a new upgraded version.  It uses the upgraded THX II sound system and a jukebox feature allowing you to upload 2400 songs from you CD collection.  The MKS also has the Sync by Microsoft bluetooth system that is very user friendly.  The optional dual panel moonroof gives a new meaning to the word moonroof.

Lincoln sparred no details when they brought this car to the market.  The MKS has quite a few really neat upgrades and raises the bar on affordable luxury.  The base price of the MKS is $41,205 and really is thousands of dollars less than it's competitors.  It competes with the Cadillac STS, Lexus GS 350, and Infiniti's M35.  Competes might be an overstatement because Lincoln did it's homework on this one and it shows.
